White Horses

New Polzeath 14th May looking for compositions.

Gorgeous big dramatic landscapes and reflections. Lovely light although slightly dark, but with enough sun to catch the white spray and that gorgeous green light in the rolling wave.

I really fancied this crashing wave challenge and had no idea how it would work out. I'm very happy with the end result

I love cutting water and haven't done a print which had so much white in.

My basic drawing with lots of measured even lines across the bottom for the lines of the sparkles

First cut, everything to stay white which meant a lot of tiny detailed cutting before I got my first colour down.

ink on the lino. I think this was my 3rd colour

a few layers starting to build up the shape of the waves and the spray on the paper
